Blue Spruce Moving Blues: Sunday, December 20th!

Dictionary: The universe in alphabetical order. -Anatole France, novelist, essayist, Nobel laureate (1844-1924)

Hi Pat, I'm working away on the Scrapbook and need to consult with you. What's your telephone number? Tom

Hi Stompin'! Wonderful to hear from you. Here is our home number. What with Christmas shopping and errands, best time to reach us is probably after 5:00 pm. Just back from Inja last Friday, [Thanks for welcome back!], and busy, ever since, acclimatizing to an Okanagan winter! Haven't shoveled snow for about 40 years! Had about two inches, or so, yesterday, just a dusting today. Went out reasonably early,7:00 am, after starting a fire, to do our front walk and sidewalk. Neighbour, Barbara, across the street was doing the same. She is from Winnipeg as well so almost like being back on the prairies. Mme Coriandre remarked, the other day, that people here are just as friendly as those in "Friendly Manitoba", province's license plate slogan!

Trust you are well. Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling, (aka Cora Lee), out at her new United Church, Oasis, and then more shopping for coming festivities. As soon as I post this I'm off to stroll downtown, but five minutes away, to do some last minute Christmas shopping myself. Look forward to chatting. All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: Ms Tinsel Town, your parcel arrived an hour or so ago! Thanks. Will have to wait for Lady Dar to return as it is addressed to her. Not that I should as she opens my mail all the time, except my bills!

Pics: Freshly shoveled walk! Last Winter Market of the year at the Shatford Centre, a short stroll away. Shona, owner, (with her husband, Gavin), of Upper Bench Winery and Creamery. She is the cheese-maker, he the winemaker. We belong to their wine club and will be serving many of their truly wonderful products at our Open House on Boxing Day. You are invited, it goes without saying! We'll arrange a piano!!! Typical look, at this time of year, of the surrounding hills.

So it's going to be a White Christmas!!! Hi Christmas Tree Gal! Bring your long underwear! You'll certainly need it while chopping wood! Have to run. Love, to one and all, Dad/Patrizzio! I'll be inside watching Hallmark movies with mom drinking wine, we will be warm enough with the fires burning and cozy socks and afghans!! xx You're dreaming of the wrong movie, Chloë Alexis, not White Christmas but Wood-Splitting Blues! Cheers, Axe-Sharpener Scrooge!

Nadienka Wyss Dear Host Fati Would you mind, sending me your address? I'd love to send a Christmas card kiss Hello Dearest Host Daddy Patrick James Dunn Hello Dearest Host Daughter!!! I've sent a message a message to your hotmail address. Let me know if you received it! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Nadienka! How simply wonderful to hear from you. Trust you are very well. Fondestos from Cora Lee. All the best to you, Dearest Host Daughter, and Anna Maria Tremonte and Rudi Rudenheimer! Cheers, Patrizzio!

For those of you who absolutely cannot do without a Monday hike, several of us will be hiking to the top of Conkle Mountain in Summerland along the mountain bike trails on the North side. The hike should take about 2 1/2 hours. If you would like to join us we will be meeting at the Rodeo Grounds at 9:00 AM.
Please let me know if you are coming. Peter

Hello Friends!!!! We sent you big big great greetings for this season!!! We were unable to get internet at the place in Melaque we are spending our Sunny sunny winter holidays!!! We missed you all, but we enjoy all our time here say hello to everybody Happy New Year with all kind of happiness!!!! Love and regards, David and Vicky

Dear Friends, First, thank you all for accepting the invitation to Jos' surprise
birthday potluck party! She will be soooooooo surprised and delighted! We have 47 coming so far, so I hope that our house will not collapse under your weight and is still standing after you leave :))! Since I will try to get wine & beer unnoticed, some of you have offered  to store it so that Jos is not seeing all this beer and wine in the house and wonder what it's for. I am kindly asking your cooperation to improvise a bit, i.e. when you show up at 6:00PM, hopefully mostly all together, I will not have everything arranged in the house to not raise any suspicion and at that moment we need to see where to put it all and make the most fun of it. So, needs no say .... anything funny you want
to bring or do, BY ALL MEANS! We still need some more food, but I am working on that request.

BUT HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION: As it happens, I just learned that our
dear daughter and her partner Vince are planning to be here for New
Years Eve, but THEY HAVE TO LEAVE SUNDAY MORNING EARLY because they have to work on Monday. IS THERE ANY OBJECTION TO DO THE SURPRISE PARTY ON JANUARY 2nd, I.E. SATURDAY?? They would love to be there, for Jos, but also of course to meet you all, but cannot if we do the 3rd.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience. I hope this works, but
if it does not, we will keep it on the 3rd. Your humble servant for multi-tasking,
Hugs, Aart Dronkers
I need to clarify that I obviously did not mean that any of the women would tip the scale, they would make our house rise .... blah, blah,
blah, blah! Please let me know whether Saturday Jan 2nd would also work for you. Your humble servant, Aarturo

Hello Ever So 'Umble Aarturo! Either date is fine for us so just let  us know what is decided and we shall appear on the appointed day! Fondestos to you both, from Lady Darjeeling! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Goils! Here is the latest iteration of the living room, sure to be changed by the time this message is finished! First few shots were taken earlier this afternoon when I strolled downtown. The sidewalks are really and truly rolled up on Sunday here in Penticton. Still it was a most pleasant walk with light snow falling. Off to Costco in Kelowna tomorrow morning. Hope to go reasonably early but will have to see what roads are like. Might be icy first thing. Fondestos from Lady Dar, reading the latest Bernie Gunther, Phil Kerr's Berlin detective, in The Lady from Zagreb. I just finished it and she snatched it out of my hands almost before I closed the book! Cheers, Dad/Patrizzio!

PS: Lady D didn't want me to shoot kitchen as it is not yet decorated to the degree she has in mind but I wanted to show the ornaments dangling from the light!

Ayn P Looks cozy...remember those British cartoons we had years ago...the room looks like one of the scenes...can't remember which series though

Patrick James Dunn
Patrick James Dunn Cosy indeed, especially with a tumbler of malt to dispel the chill night air!

Ayn P Just a tumbler though...winter only begins tomorrow and you'll need to ration the stocks through spring

Patrick James Dunn
Patrick James Dunn You must be Lady's Dar's daughter as you sound just like her!!!

Ayn P I think you need to bring one of the cream chairs in from the other room for the winter. Patrick James Dunn Yes, Yes, Lady Dar II!

Hi Little Yda and The Imperiales! Lovely to hear from you. Trust you and Arni enjoy the Happiest of Happy Christmases and a Healthy New Year! Take care of each other and we look forward to another, longer visit in 2016! Cheers, Cora Lee and Patrizzio!

Matt, thanks for the call today reminding me of this significant event ! I was sure I had replied, but as you say it must still be bouncing around the squash Club ! Yes I have the date earmarked and look forward to further instructions!
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and Catherine! “Supine” Andrew

Hello Lads! Trust everyone is well. Best Wishes for the Happiest of Happy Christmases and a Healthy New Year to one and all. Cheers, Il Conduttore/Patrizzio! PS: Dreadfully sorry to miss malt tasting but I'm having a a few snorts, as I scribe, to drown my sorrows!

As we gather 'round our Christmas tree (attached), we are thinking of you, sending good cheer and the spirit of Christmastime your way. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from our place to yours! The Coffaro Family - Pat Dave Kate & Susie

Hi Famiglia Coffaro! Thanks for the Christmas greetings and warm wishes. Here is the latest iteration of our living room, made to accommodate live Blue Spruce, to be planted in front yard, we hope!  Sorry you won't be joining us on Boxing Day but glad it is raining in your neck of the woods! Loads of snow here so a good thing as well since the Okanagan experienced an unseasonably early hot, dry spring and summer. Best wishes from Burns Street to Dry Creek for the Happiest of Happy Christmases and a Healthy New Year! Cheers, Patrizzio!
