Kelowna Costco Blues: Monday, December 21st!

I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat. -Rebecca West, author and journalist (21 Dec 1892-1983)
Penny Doorbar Looks beautiful Pat - we've had nothing but rain here! Happy Christmas to you all xx

Patrick James Dunn
Patrick James Dunn Come for a winter holiday, Duhlink! Best time to drink Ice Wine! Madcap needs to learn to ski or snowshoe instead of being fixated on the sun! Happy Sugar Plum Dreams! Cheers!

Patrick James Dunn Counter decs by Lady Dar, arrangement by Photo-Op Patrizzio!  Penny Doorbar Somehow don't think he'll rush out to buy skis ! This is our Xmas tree - I'm off work with hacking cough and no voice!x Patrick James Dunn Sorry to hear about your cold/cough! Nothing worse than feeling ill over Christmas. Even more reason to fly right into Penticton. Plenty of over the counter cough medicine in the malt cabinet! Madcap needs to rub some Vicks somewhere, Voiceless One! Gargle with this! Cheers, Self-Medicating Patrizzio!!!

Carol Daglish Happy Xmas! 🍷🍷. Love Carol xx
Patrick James Dunn
Patrick James Dunn Happy Christmas Carol and a Healthy New Year from Cora Lee and I! Cheers!
Ayn P Very nicely done!!
Patrick James DunnPatrick James Dunn Thanks! Quite a compliment from an LA interior decorator. Must away to cart chair in from Rumpus Room! Nothing like barking out orders over the Net! Fine!!! (Sound of hands clapping!!!) Cherry Man from Naramata. We bought a carton of his wonderful juice for the Open House, if it lasts that long!
Ayn P Please send new pic with chair...thank you
Patrick James DunnPatrick James Dunn Jawohl, Mein General! Heil Tinsel Town!!!

Pat, Everything looks very festive in your new home. Just finished the same Gunther book Corinne is reading. Jenny is arriving on Wednesday for a couple of weeks. Walked with Mike Carter on Sunday - just to justify sitting on the couch for a couple of hours watching rugby. Very best wishes to you and Corinne. Ray

Carol Daglish Hmmm, healthy new year might be pushing it with the wine I've got for the celebrations! It will certainly be happy as I'm sure yours will. Xx

Patrick James Dunn Unfortunately, even with all the snow, it isn't a White Christmas as Cora Lee will only drink highly alcoholic Reds! She claims it is so that her full wine glass will match Frosty's scarf and toque! Picture was done by Dusty, Corinne's Dad, a number of years ago and we have put it on our front door, to welcome friends and family over Xmas hols ever since he painted it. Cheers and Hic!

Hi Raymond! Sounds as if we are living parallel lives with respect to books and daughters, and exercise, or lack of same, to boot! Chloë is flying up on Wednesday but will only be here until the 28th! Back to the Big City for New Year's! Still, looking forward to having her here since she has really been busy at Aunt Leah's for last month. Apparently the tree lots did very, very well this year so terrific for their fund raising effort.

I'm on to the latest Harry Bosch now. Have to finish it before Chloë arrives as her Grandmother sent it for her stocking, along with her wonderful shortbread. Did you do Christmas cake again? Hope so as it was always fantastic. With respect to Kerr, I was able to find three of the earlier "Bernies" at the wonderful used bookstore here yesterday. Along with a few Easy Rawlins, by Walter Mosley, and a Dennis Lehane, all stocking stuffers for The Sisterhood.

As far as exercise goes, I appreciated your comment about the walk with Mick. I've been quite enjoying reading next to the fire for days now. Only real exercise, to the extent that it is exercise, has been shoveling snow and sweeping the sidewalk of later dustings. Hope to pop by the community centre here to take a look at the pool and gym and pick up a membership. Imagine I'll start to swim and use the Elliptizer until weather allows me to clamber back on the bike. Not that I mind as I know I need to vary my exercise.

Must away as I need to put another log on the fire and then sweep front walk. We will head out to Kelowna shortly thereafter. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you and Sylvia. Enjoy your visit with Jenny as I know you will. [Just had a short message from our dear friend, Penny, in North London, Mill Hill Broadway, and she has a terrible cold/cough so, obviously, not a happy situation anytime, let alone over Christmas.], probably won't be back in Vancouver until 7's in March. Any word on what is happening with tickets? I know Ted Keating is interested. Have you heard from Giorgio of late? Cheers, Patrizzio!

We are now working on our last 12 months to retirement for the end of November. We are making the bucket list and looking forward to the time to do as many of the things on our list as we can. Sounds like you are enjoying your new home and all the area has to offer. Thanks for the photos and video, looks like fun was had by all!

We visited with our daughter Jacklyn at her new home in Waterloo, ON at the end of November and had fun playing with her 3 year old, Henry. He literally wore us out. Haven't been to Ians in Calgary this year, I was there last year for his 35th birthday. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Love to the both of you. Anne

Hi Anne and Kurt! How lovely to hear from you! Sounds as you are looking forward to retirement. We recommend it highly! Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling, (late of Inja where we just spent six wonderful weeks)/Cora Lee to you both. Happiest of Happy Christmases and a Healthy New Year to you and family, Anne! Put Penticton on your list as it is your turn to visit! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Penticton Creek, near our place, yesterday; Lady Dar guarding malt cabinet in corner; live Blue Spruce we hope to plant in front yard; Santa getting ready to climb down the chimney!

Hi Lurch and Grogg! Trust you are both well. I gather Hawaii was terrific, according to Sarge. Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Happiest of Happy Christmases and a Healthy New Year to you and all the family which I imagine will gather at Madroña Manor, at some point! Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: Had a note from Anne. She and Kurt are preparing for retirement next November. They seem well and I've asked them to visit so trust they will when time is right.
