Alhole Pattadakal Blues: Saturday, November 14th!

When I read some of the rules for speaking and writing the English language correctly, -- as that a sentence must never end with a particle, -- and perceive how implicitly even the learned obey it, I think: Any fool can make a rule. And every fool will mind it. -Henry David Thoreau, naturalist and author (1817-1862)

France has declared a national state of emergency and has closed its borders after at least 120 people were killed in gun and bomb attacks in Paris.
At least 100 people are reported to have died at the Bataclan concert hall in central Paris. Gunmen took many hostages there before being overpowered by police. Others died in a reported suicide blast near the Stade de France and gun attacks on city centre restaurants. Five attackers are reported killed.
Paris residents have been asked to stay indoors and about 1,500 military personnel are being deployed across the city.

Who cares what we did today!  Look at the news from Paris.  John is in the middle of it.  One of the areas the came under attack is only a couple of blocks from his hotel.  He was there and decided against staying to eat, and just grabbed something to take back to his room.  He considers himself very lucky, as do we.  However, it is not over yet.  We will not be at ease until he is back in the U.S.

Dear Jo-Anne and Colin! Just read your email and then managed to follow some of the unfolding violence and carnage in Paris. Being on the road and with time difference, we had been completely unaware of the horrific attacks and cannot imagine how you must feel, knowing that John is there. Know that we are thinking of you and praying for his safe return. Please keep us informed as you are able to do so. Again, our thoughts and concerns are with you, Corinne and Patrick.

Hi Stompin'! How wonderful to hear form you. Will be most curious to hear about your Inja trip. You need to visit us in the Okanagan! As well, am keen to see the Library Scrapbook. Thanks for all your hard work in that regard. Am more than pleased that you can use some of the material I passed along. Anyway, must away as we are about to go down to breakfast and then we leave for Hubli at 9:00 am. Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling, (aka Corinne), to you. Cheers, Patrizzio!
