St FX Blues: Monday, November 16th!

One of the truest tests of integrity is its blunt refusal to be compromised. -Chinua Achebe, writer and professor (16 Nov 1930-2013)

Enjoying the updates Patrick. Thanks. We went to a 3D 360 degree immersive tour of Hempi at SFU in Sept. Your photos brought back a lot of memories.
Sitting at YVR awaiting our flight to London. On to Paris later next week. Hopefully things will be approximating normality by ‎then. Continued safe travels. Cheers....Paul

Hi, Met with the oncologist and the diagnosis is mantel lymphoma which is treatable but not curable.  He stated my entire lymph node system is infected.  I'm  scheduled for 6 chemo treatments (beginning Nov 23 and every 4 weeks thereafter) which slows the onslaught and prolongs living for about a couple of years providing other organs don't become infected.  Wasn't quite what we were expecting but does put into perspective the old saying, "this is the first day of the rest of your life".  Sheila and I are somewhat in shock but are taking things in stride.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.  Talk soon. Des!

Dearest Des and Sheila: It was with the greatest of dismay that we learned, (via a message from Wayne), about your recent diagnosis, Des. Words fail one at a time such as this but please know that both Corinne and I are thinking of you as you must somehow deal with such mind-numbing news. Our heartfelt prayers and concerns go out to you and your family. Much love, Corinne and Patrick.
