Early morning Elliptizer Blues: Sunday, November 15th!

Up at 5:30 am to don my gym togs and head for the quite nicely appointed and fitted work-out room, just off the pool. Fancy smancy machina and most of the equipment sports video screen so I was able to watch about 9 different channels as I pounded away for 75 minutes to expend 750 or so calorifics, over 2.17 km. Not a particularly vigorous workout but simply delighted to have some form of sustained exercise. I was looking out over the pool and saw the sky lightening as the sun rose. Heard the Muslim call to prayer around 5:45 am and then another call, half an hour or so later. Most of the TV coverage had to do with the terrorist attacks in Paris, as one might imagine. Saw many of the world's cities iconic buildings or statues, (Rio's Christ, Sydney's Opera House, London's Eye, per esempio), lighted with the French flag's colours.

Was just finished my workout when Jugos Dom Pedro arrived and we chatted very briefly as he headed for the elliptizer and I made for our room, to shower and change. Lady Darjeeling was up and I handed her her morning paper, Deccan Herald, before I made her a cup of tea and fixed my own Instanto. Did my laundry while I showered and we'll head down for breakfast shortly.

Hi Cactus and Donna Florida!

How wonderful to hear from you, even in the wake of the horrific attacks in Paris
On a worrying note, had the following message from Jo-Anne and Colin Naslund:

Who cares what we did today! Look at the news from Paris. John is in the middle of it. One of the areas the came under attack is only a couple of blocks from his hotel. He was there and decided against staying to eat, and just grabbed something to take back to his room. He considers himself very lucky, as do we. However, it is not over yet. We will not be at ease until he is back in the U.S.

They have been in London for a week or more. Being on the road and with time difference, we had been completely unaware of the attacks until yesterday morning. Cannot imagine how they must feel, knowing that John, their eldest son, is there.

Anyway, must away as we are about to go down to breakfast and then we leave for Goa at 9:00 am. Fondestos from Lady Darjeeling, (aka Corinne), to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!
